Default Delta 43-505 router shaper

I have a Delta router shaper for sale. It includes the wrenches, starting pin, on board dust collection port and will serve nicely as a router/table combination. The router is not removable. If you own a plunge router for free hand work this table is a good value. It does not have the shaper mandrel, and that part is no longer available. I took this in on a trade and am offering it for sale at $125.00 plus shipping. This is a great deal for a beginner.

I like to offer tools to members when they are a good value. If nobody is interested this nice little machine will be put on Craigslist.

You can get the shaper mandrel for that all over eBay. I had that little shaper and it is a work horse. I had all the shaper cutters for it and it got a lot of use, until it melted in a house fire.

Many people complained about this unit but they were expecting the world for a very low price. The two sided fence leaves something to be desired, but with a little modification I used this as my only table for 3 years.

Oh and it spins to slow to get great results for the really small bits, but works great with medium sized router bits and great with their shaper cutters.

Hi my name is Rick from Ct, what exactly is the "Shaper mandrel" part? I have one of these machines and am interesting in buying 2 more. Thanks

Hi Rick and welcome. Maybe the spindle? Mike hasn't been active for a little while but you might be able to send him a private message once you get up to 10 posts so that you are able to use that system.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

I know Mike has sold this machine quite some time ago.

I have one of those router/shapers and the mandrel for it. With the mandrel, you can use shaper cutters with 1/2" holes. I've never bought any shaper cutters for use with it.

I'll try to post a picture of the mandrel tomorrow, if I can still find it.

This thread is from 2008 and the Delta sold shortly after I posted it.
