I have a similar 14 inch Delta, pretty much the same, but with Carter guides and I have not been able to get $325 for it locally. Used consumer grade tools don't seem to bring much.

Tom,
I agree it's going to be a tough sell. I priced it by adding up the replacement costs of the included items and then cut that amount in half. Even at 50% it will take a buyer in or close to my zip code who has a truck and strong friends to lug it out of my basement shop. The saw is above my weight lifting capability.

Just for reference, I've got an old 28-303, which I paid $250 for a few years ago. I've added Carter guides, Kreg fence, new tires, and a mobile base. There's also one that sold on e-bay for $475:

Delta Model 28-303 - 14" Wood Cutting Bandsaw | eBay

and a 203 that may have gone for $425:

Asking $550 doesn't seem way out of line, depending on your market.

For whatever reason the older American made Delta band saws are bringing big money lately. This does not seem wildly out of line to me...and at $400 or $450 it would probably sell quickly given the local market here in Ohio.

Tool prices vary by region and actually seem cheaper out west. That would probably sell fairly quickly at that price here in Columbus. but your example is interesting-you own a Laguna 14-12, which is orders of magnitude more saw than the old Delta.

At $350 you are a third of the way to the Laguna at $550 over half way there if you buy the Laguna at ten percent off. The Laguna would be worth a couple of months of PB and J sandwiches and cutting down on going out to Hockey games if that is what it took.

The Laguna is really that much better IMHO.

...and used at $550 you are not far off of much more vintage saw if your willing to drive or pick it up. I have seen several Walker Turner 16 Inch and 14 inch bandsaws, an Oliver 192, and a bunch of other good old ARN go in the $450-$850 range.

I have a number of power tools to sell in a yard sale, But if someone in So Cal wants to buy the Delta band saw with Carter Guides, Kreg fence, fold up casters, Makita lunch box planer +dust extractor, Rockler dovetail jig with dust extractor, PC bisquit joiner, plus accessories, blades and other goodies, pm me.

I'll truck it pretty much anywhere in San Diego, LA, San Fernando valley to the coast, San Bernardino, Bakersfield. The procedes go to insulating and dry walling the garage ceiling so I can actually work in there.

The more I do, the less I accomplish.

Insulating a garage makes infinite sense for a workshop, wish I were closer, I would drop over and lend a hand.

Regards,

Chris

An old saying.

It's always easier reduce the price than to raise it.

Don in Murfreesboro,Tn.

Measure once cut twice and it's still to short.
