Default Machine Pricing Tool - [Free] - Just like Kelly Blue Book

We built a free machine pricing tool at cncmachines.com - no obligation, you can get the price of your machine instantly for what it can sell or trade for in the used market. We would also love some feedback since we want to add a lot more features to this tool, any feedback can help us make it better for machine shop owners to know how much they can sell their Machines for.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Welcome to the forum, Jon! I played around with the pricing tool and it works very smoothly. I have a friend with a 4x8 Chinese machine and he's wanting to sell it but your pricing tool didn't have a category for those. I've already told him he'd be lucky to get half of what he paid 3 years ago.

If I were you, I'd work on a pricing tool for all kinds of power tools, table saws, jointers, planers, band saws, etc. Many of us are older and would like to be able to direct family to a reliable pricing site, especially if they are making a market for sales of used gear. We know we aren't likely to be around when it's time to give up our tools. And welcome to the forums, you've done it nicely so I hope the moderators won't ban you. In fact, I'd like to see occasional posts (2-3 weeks between) on resale and used prices for common tools. For the mods reading this: I hope you don't ban this poster, I think if they are respectful, they have something potentially very useful to many of us.

As long as it's free then I don't see an issue.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

I agree and that's why I checked it out right away. But I would like to see participation on the forum rather than this one message and never hear back from him.

Just go to the website he mentioned, Herb, and it is on the first page. There isn't a link in his post so you'll have to copy what he gave us and paste it into your browser or just retype it - that's what I did, it's short.

Hope he posts from time to time. I think prices are of interest to all of us.

Thanks, David, I see the link is there now. not sure why it didn't show the first time.

I like Tom's suggestion too, pricing for all other power tool would be a nice guide to buying used tools.

Seriously? For free??
I think it's a bit unfair to expect someone(s) to devote that much time and effort to this project without any compensation. After all, the purpose is supposedly to see the buyers and sellers getting a fair deal.
What's in it for the 'Blue Book' compilers?
