Wow! An outstanding shop! 2500 square feet? My little 830 sq ft shop-in-the-making is 1/4 that size. I am just in the process of figuring out where to put things. I need to build workbenches and hook up the electrical 60 amp circuit.

830 is a pretty good size for a home shop. I will be down sizing in the next couple of years to a 24 x 30 at my house. Gonna be much harder to go down in size than it is to go up I think.

Hey Clay...

how do you like that Grizzly GO555? I've put a 555X on my short list of bandsaws and would like to know any pro's/con's you might have on the thing?

For what I use it for it has performed great. As with any tool there are times when I wish I had the 17", but for the money this one was the best deal for me.
I have a 3/4" blade and have done some light resawing but mostly just 1/4 and 3/8" for my day to day cutting.
If I had it to do over I might buy the riser, but now I have several blades and hate to change it.
I have had good luck with all my larger Grizzly tools.

Really hard for me to compare since this is the only one I ever had except for an old craftsman bench top.

Hi Clay,
I think you are the first I have seen to be blessed with a shop as big as mine. I agree going down in size is certainly harder than going up in size of shop. I started with a basement shop, then a 24 X 30, then a 28 X 40, then a huge room in a old tannery
that belonged to a friend of mine, then down to a 24 X 26 and now it could be as big as I want up to about 5000 sf. I actually have my shop in 2 adjoining rooms main shop is
28 X 60 and second room I use mostly for storage 24 X 50. I did build a spray booth
in the storage area about 12 X 12.

We are very blessed people, have fun making dust, Todd

I never seen a workbench like the one with the pennisula. Is there a specific task you like it for, or was it just a way to add more bench top?

I always like looking at shops and benchs for ideas.

Is this a hobby for you or do this for a living? It looks professional, but some people just have big shops.

The bench was my design for the way I like it after building 3 shops. It is where I pile project, broken tools, etc. I have room for my tools and projects. I will be copying it in my home shop for sure.
It is also a handy place for my small scroll saw or my 1" belt sander.
I do this full time after retiring from the fire dept.

Awesome shop Clay. I love your 8" joiner. Also fancy that barrel stove. Everything is wonderful. Looks like 10 people can work in there. Yes, you are truly blessed!
