I'm looking to build more furniture as shop time has returned :)

I'm considering to include mortise and tenon joinery and am looking at a new product from Kreg their
MortiseMate™ Loose Tenon Jig. Haven't seen any reviews by users.

I am wondering if it (Looks) is easier and quicker than most jigs and if their price is in the ball park

Let me know Thanks

It would be much cheaper to make your own.
Youtube has many examples, or look in Bill Hyltons books if you can.
I have an example of Bills jig in a YT video.

Well......Thanks again James for the advice and links. After looking into the Manufacturers products and their prices coupled with the simplicity and accuracy of some of the DIY Mortise jigs the light finally came on. I will be making/copying an easy to make jig not only for the initial savings but the savings in making the "Loose Tenons".

Bill Hylton's jigs are mostly out of my league when it comes to jig making like his "Excellent Mortising Platform" jig. I believe it is the same as the link you posted. That jig is detailed in my only Bill Hylton book "Woodworking with the Router". The other mortising jig he has detailed in that book is a good one for me to start off with. It's called "Quick-and-Dirty Edge-Mortising Fixture the drawback is that it is only for mortising the edge and not the ends. Whether I choose that jig, or another easier jig build off You-Tube hasn't been finalized but thankfully I've been put on the right path.

BTW I bought Bills book several months after joining this forum for (Christmas 2009). I wish knew today 10% of the abundance of information that's in it.
