wow 4 days 50 hits and no comments. i just ordered my equipment from grizzly , over 8700.00 . the issue with the freight was they would not honor the free freight chares from 3 weeks ago on the same equipment.so i had to pay a additional 378.70 freight charges. i would have thought for a order this size they would forgo the additional charge but not so. i like grizzly tools had them before so i bit the bullet and made the order but with a bad taste in my jaw again tks for your time ken

Hi Ken,

Sorry about your post not getting the attention you were seeking. Sometimes folks do not reply simply because they do not know or have experience in the area in question.

I have never made a purchase from Grizzly, but see a lot of talk on woodworking forums that indicate they have a generally good product and service. I am with you though about the freight costs on an order that size. I think I would have chased that issue to the top (Papa Grizzly) seeking a waiver of the freight.

Let us know how you like your new toys when they arrive.

Ken,

Even though you've already plunked down your $8,700 I'd still take Bob's advice and search out Papa Grizzly, explain the bad taste in your mouth and ask 'em if there's anything Grizzly will do to encourage you to continue to shop at Grizzly for future tools and accessories. They should be willing to do *something* for you, if only as a good-faith effort.

Hi Ken congrats on your purchases! I totally agree with the other posters about the freight charges. Make sure whoever you talk to you let it be known that you are posting this issue on various woodworking forums and you are getting a LOT of sympathy from your peers. I am sure Grizzly won't like that kind of advertising :)

I've gotten some good luck with vendors by mentioning that you were *encouraged* by people on the forums to contact them because Grizzly has a good reputation on the forums and people figure that Grizzly will "make it right". Oh... and let it slip that we are awaiting to hear how Grizzly treated you, as part of our future Grizzly purchasing processes. What's the worst they can say? <g>

I've had a JPM13 Molder Planer (a floor model), since 03 and am very happy with it. I use the molder a couple 3 times a year and get excelent profiles from it. As a planer I can't count all the board feet that have passed through it, Oak, Maple, Mahogeny and Fir a sturdy well built tool.

Starting out as a throwaway tool company around 20 plus years ago Jet has made inroads into the quality shop tool business over the last 10 years.

You could always ask the person for their email and email them the link to this discussion. :)

Hi Ken,

You won't be disappointed with Grizzly. I've have their Hybrid TS, a small air comp., and belt sander. They are reliable machines and they do have an excellent tech team to help you.
